No. We work with lender programs designed specifically for newcomers with no Canadian credit history. Recent pay stubs or bank statements help, but they're not always required.

What if I have a past bankruptcy or collections?

We work with people in this situation regularly. Generally we ask that a bankruptcy is discharged for at least 6 months. Collections do not automatically disqualify you.

Do I need a job or stable income to get approved?

Yes, in almost every case. Lenders want to see a verifiable, stable source of income before they finance a vehicle, because the loan has to actually be repayable. That income can come from full-time or part-time employment, self-employment, a pension, or government benefits, usually backed up by recent pay stubs or bank statements. If you currently have no income at all, it's very unlikely any responsible lender will approve a car loan, no matter how good your credit is.
